Amway's Fred Harteis On Hard Work

Fred Harteis is a man of strong work ethic.  I love this about Fred.  Not only does he work hard but his attitude about work is contegeous and inspires others to work hard as well.  He has a great no-excuses outlook on life.  I read this on a Fred Harteis blog and I thought I would share it...

Fred Harteis On Hard Work:  Anyone being challenged realizes what hard word is. Whether it is in business or your daily life, we all have to come out of our comfort zones and jump in. Hard work always pays off in the end.

"The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand." - Vince Lombardi

Amway Randy Haugen – Traveling Through Pages Of History

Randy Haugen points out the words "fitly chosen." Books can be your best friends and mentors. They can give us wisdom and help us to learn what it took another a lifetime. But the key is in choosing the "right" books...

Randy Haugen, “It is possible to spend the day with some of the greatest people in history; no particular timeline of introduction is required. Your local library is filled with biographies of men like Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, and Marie Curie. Be sure and note the words, “fitly chosen” in the Douglas Jerrold statement below.”

Haugen – Quick Quote Favorite About Books

Embrace Things That Work, Suggests Fred Harteis

Books are written all the time about how to deal more effectively with people.  But it is amazing how many of them reference this book by Dale Carnegie.  This book was written some time ago but the principles apply just as much today as they did when he wrote the book...

“The world would be a better place if everyone would embrace the teachings of Dale Carnegie.” – Fred Harteis

Harteis notes, “The second book I read by Dale was “How to Win Friends and Influence People,” and I read and studied it during my high school days. The benefits have been astounding.”

Fred Harteis reports experiencing a real and measureable benefit from studying Carnegie’s lessons and principles.

Harteis explains, “ While in college I was elected class president three times only because of the principles followed in Dale Carnegies Books. I was a shy farm boy, but gained great confidence in public relations skills and people skills from being a student of the common sense wisdom of Dale. Business success is 87% people skill and 13% business skill. I firmly believe that the early exposure to Dale Carnegie’s writings has given me a high advantage. His principles are needed today every bit as much as when they were first written,” adds Fred.

Quixtar's Fred Harteis: Challenges Faced Provide Starting Points

It is fun to look back at challenges we faced many years ago.  So many times they seem so small when we look back on them.  Every time we stretch and over come new challenges it builds confidence and makes challenges from the past seem so small...

Fred Harteis: “John Dewey once wisely remarked that arriving at one goal is the starting point of another. William Bennett added to that thought with the comment he made below explaining the benefit of having the goal also be a challenge. His point is the development potential represented by goals or issues that could also be viewed as challenges and obstacles. You can see why this powerful topic is ideal for Bennett’s book of Virtues.”

Fred & Linda Harteis Favorite:

“Give yourself an even greater challenge than the one you are trying to master and you will develop the powers necessary to overcome the original difficulty." - William J. Bennett - The Book of Virtues

Quixtar Fred Harteis: Thanks To Veterans

It is important that we know the history of the holidays we celebrate and we teach them to kids growing up.  Fred Harties provides some great facts and history of these two important American holidays...

Amway/Quixtar's Fred Harteis: Celebration of Service

Fred Harteis: “Two of my thankful memories to our service people are May’s Memorial Day and the November‘s celebration of peace, Veterans Day. Each one reminds us that when we celebrate, we are remembering and recognizing the sacrifices of brave service people in the cause of freedom.”

Veterans Day - 1918 - It was on this day – the 11th day of the 11th month at 11 a.m. – that World War I came to an end. The Allied and Central Powers signed the Armistice in Marshal Foch’s railway car in the Forest of Compiegne, France. On May 24, 1954, Congress passed a resolution declaring November 11 “Veteran’s Day” – a national holiday to honor all of those who have served our nation in her armed forces.

Memorial Day – Was originally called Decoration Day as a commemoration of Civil War. In 1966, the federal government, under the direction of President Lyndon Johnson, declared Waterloo, New York, the official birthplace of Memorial Day. They chose Waterloo—which had first celebrated the day on May 5, 1866—because the town had made Memorial Day an annual, community-wide event during which businesses closed and residents decorated the graves of soldiers with flowers and flags.

Fred Harteis and Linda Harteis are members of IBOAI.
